- Welcome to my world. I am a 35-yr-old mom to four little tykes ages 9, 7, 5 & 3. If this weren't enough, we home school these munsters, too. There is rarely a dull moment around here. To add to our craziness, September 13th, 2007, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. Xrays revealed a 4 cm mass hiding behind my heart. Eleven days later it was removed, and had already grown to 5 cm. The lower lobe of my left lung was removed and I have been staged at IB. I underwent four rounds of intense chemotherapy. I am now finished with treatment, and we are playing the wait and see game. The docs are watching me closely for recurrence, which can weigh heavy on me some days. So this is life after...
